About the Riversway Team

Riversway Aviculture Products Ltd is an established family run company formed by championship budgerigar breeder Roger Stone. Riversway products are used extensively by top breeders and exhibitors throughout the aviculture world and have received rave reviews.

Since Riversway produced their first product in 2001 the range has grown from strength to strength with an exciting new range of products continually being developed.

OLYMPIC gold medallist and budgerigar breeder and exhibitor Geoff Capes is backing a new range of drinkers, utensils and accessories for seed-eaters.

Riversway Aviculture Products has for several years been producing a range of accessories, from hoppers to perch supports, chiefly for the exhibition sector of the hobby. Now the company is expanding and offering its extensive range to the specialist trade.

“All of our products are wholly designed, manufactured and distributed in the UK and have been tried and tested by many championship-winning birdrooms,” said founder and managing director Roger Stone. “Now we are in a position to offer these products to independent outlets at very competitive prices.

“We have enlisted the help of one of the UK’s finest athletes – in fact, still the most capped male British athlete of all time: Geoff Capes, the former Olympic shot putt champion and three-times winner of the World’s Strongest Man title.”

Roger, an experienced engineer, said the words strong, durable and reliable were synonymous with Geoff Capes and were now also bywords for the Riversway products.

“Our drinkers are second to none, especially our very own Slimline drinker, with its various reservoir capacities and offset drinking channels, and in the cage-front seed hopper we introduced a world first,” he said.

“These products and more are now available, packed singly and ready to hang on your shelving in whatever combination of quantity and colour you believe would be good for your customers.”

Roger’s 50 years in the hobby started when he and his father caught a green bird in their garden – which turned out to be a budgerigar!

Since then he has played a leading part in shaping the hobby both locally and nationally, serving on the Western Counties Budgerigar and Foreign Bird Society committee, the Dorset and District Budgerigar Society and the General Council of the Budgerigar Society.

He has recently taken a rest from showing, but plans to return to the bench later this year, with high hopes for some home-bred youngsters.

Riversway Aviculture Products, based in Yeovil, Somerset, has just produced a new illustrated catalogue and the full range also features on the company’s website at www.riverswayonline.co.uk
